Description

This listing is for a pair of Second World War British Military Canadian made C.G.B G.A 6 X 30 Binoculars. These binoculars show some signs of wear from use such as rubbing, marking, finish or paint loss and surface scratches. The markings on the prism housings are "C.G.B. 53 G.A 6X30 10640-c" "Graticule 1/2" Apart & 1/4", 1/2" & 1" High R.E.L./Canada 1943" along with a broadhead arrow marking. These binoculars are Canadian contract binoculars made for the British and were produced in 1943. Both eyepieces are focus adjustable/ have a dioptre, there is no central focus adjustment. The right hand eyepiece has more finish/ paint loss than the left. The right hand focus/dioptre moves but feels gritty/ sandy, the left hand focus/ dioptre moves smoothly and is probably how the right one should be. The crackle paint/ finish on the main body is mostly intact although there are a few spots where it has worn through. There is some degradation to the optics the prism on the left side seems to have lost some of the silvering, the right side prism seems to be in better shape. There is some dust or dirt throughout the optics. There are what I can only describe things that look like droplets of water inside the optical path, there isn't water inside the optics its just the closest descriptor I could think of. The optics are otherwise quite bright. The original strap is present but broken on one end. There is no case with these binoculars.
