Scottish locally caught whelks are selected for quality on arrival at Berwick Shellfish, then cooked in boiling water, left to cool and then hand picked to give you the age old whelk meat (also known locally as "Buckies" ).
It's a bit of a love hate realtionship, but many are sold to restaurants and hotels across the UK.
